PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To manage the working capital of the business, by
planning sales and inflows and executing those plans through stock management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Planning and management of Working capital
● Highlight specific growth areas (new opportunities or product)
● Plan realistic markdowns, shrinkage and mark-ups
● Post-mortem historical performance and evaluate price matrix and product type ratios
● Realistic re-forecasting on plans
● Highlighting and managing late and early deliveries
● Ensuring OTB spent to approved target
● Management of stock allocations and distributions

Price adjustments & Markdowns
● Make proposals for slow selling products
● Coordinate in-season and end-of-season markdowns

Store performance review and analysis
● On-going review of store performance
● Provide feedback to Location Planning
● Effectively use profiles / grades to better distribute assortment of product to stores
● Departmental Performance reviews and analysis
● Formal monthly performance feedback; detailed analysis on results
● Weekly BU performance and analysis

Store visits and Competitor analysis
● Local competitors will be visited in order to enhance product knowledge and compare
product offerings
● Problem issues in stores will be identified (e.g. sizes)
Country Support
● STP inbox queries are answered and country teams assisted
● Feedback and action plans to be provided following country visits
Ad hoc projects
● Participate in ad-hoc projects when required

JOB REQUIREMENTS
● Relevant tertiary qualification
● 3+ years Retail Planning experience
● Experience in Planning tools, i.e. EP (Advantageous)
● Knowledge of Warehouse Management System (WMS)
● Knowledge of Replenishment processes
● Computer Literacy: Intermediate
● Willingness to travel to African countries (occasionally)
● South African citizen

Bookkeeper

POSITION: BOOKKEEPER (C1)

DEPARTMENT: FINANCE

LOCATION: CAPE TOWN

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To capture and process financial information in order to upload the data into the financial systems; reporting and maintaining of country loan accounts, data and Balance Sheet reconciliation as well as expense analysis of the Cape Town Account and Financial data and systems support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accurate and timely recording of accounting information
  • Check all journals against monthly checklist to ensure all journals are posted
  • Opening of new General Ledger (GL) accounts if not already in relevant Account system
  • Ensure mapping of new GL accounts are correct
  • Ensure monthly reconciliations are completed
  • Ensure all information is processed in time
  • Ensure monthly recons balance
  • Follow up on discrepancies
  • Monthly checklists and review
  • Updating of monthly checklists
  • Updating of monthly country Financial Manager (FM) Dashboard Gross Profit (GP) & Stock Management
  • Ensure Stock system (AMS) and Accounting system aligns
  • GIT reconciliations for each country
  • Resolve incorrect entries Data and Systems
  • Maintenance and Analysis of relevant files
  • GIT: Request missing files from stakeholders
  • Open new vendors in Accounting system Intercompany Loans
  • Check exchange rates on loan advices
  • Post loan entries
  • Perform/Review reconciliations
  • Involvement in projects and adhoc tasks as and when required

JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12 (with Accounting as a subject)
  • Relevant Diploma
  • 3+ years related work experience
  • Retail industry experience will be an advantage
  • Computer Literacy – Intermediate
  • Accounting systems – Advanced
  • South African Citizen
